Purchased a GPS unit and added the Square Trade warrenty . The GPS stopped working and I emailed Square Trade and filed a claim. It was almost like magic how fast things went from there. Had my money sent to my PayPal account and the claim was settled in just a few days, no hassels at all. I HIGHLY recommand square Trade and will use them for an extended warrenty on all my electronic items.

When I first got the email invite to ensure my e-bay electronics purchase with Square Trade, I was too busy, didn't think I would need it, didn't think the warranty would be any good, rite? Wrong, my netbook died within months of having it and I was out of luck! It was under manufacturer's warranty but guess what? The problem wasn't covered under their warranty! A friend called me later to say her teen's netbook had stopped working properly too and she had the Square Trade insurance coverage, filed a claim and received a decision within no time. Yeah, I felt like Duh.
Since then, I do not purchase camera's, cell phones or computers without Square Trade! I had to file a claim last week on my Android and within 24 hours I had a decision and I was able to recover the money that would had been other wise lost on that phone. They often offer via email 20% and 30% off discount sales on their coverage, so for the peace of mind, get it. They even emailed me with the packing label, all I had to do was box or pad bag it and drop it off at any UPS pickup AT NO CHARGE. It just doesn't get any easier than that. That 60 or 90 day window you can purchase it can come and go before you know it. So worth the investment!
P.S. You can also get coverage on sales other than E-Bay, Amazon.com, so ask yourself, is the gamble worth it? Honestly, getting quality service and a refund if merited is much ealier than going through manufacturers warranties; been there, done that. Electronics are a big part of our livesfor most of us , but they're not perfect and often do malfunction or break in time.
(I used to pay $5.00 a month for my phone insurance on Sprint and STILL had to pay an additional fee of $50 if my phone needed to be replaced after manufacturer's warranty had expired, now I think they charge $100 for a replacement UNDER insurance.) Don't save a quarter now to spend a dollar later. My .2
